HONDA'S MAINTENANCE MINDER SYSTEM

On the newer model Honda’s they have developed a very sophisticated system to evaluate how the vehicle is being driven and how it impacts the life span of the engine oil. The maintenance minder system calculates the vehicle’s speed, engine load and temperature variables that affects the oil life and calculates its prediction on how long the engines oil has left in its usefulness. Honda no longer issues service intervals in mileage on these newer vehicles’s. How the vehicle is driven, temperatures and drive time determines service needs. It’s difficult to say at this time if new maintenance minder system will prove to be helpful or detrimental in the long run since it is too early to judge. If your vehicle is equipped with the maintenance minder system and you wish to go by the system, the following list will provide you with the guidelines for each indicator.
